This is my pond...

Everyone is fighting their own battles and we may or may not see them because in most cases the water is still and their emotions run deep; but most of all one can never understand from the surface, the currents beneath those calm waters…

Every person carries his own pond with him and only he knows the depth of his problems or the intensity of the currents under their calm exterior, so don’t be quick to judge when you have not swam their waters…

They too are swimming for the shore like you, the only difference is that dry land may be at different lengths and the currents may vary from time to time; but the goal to touch land is just the same… Your pond is not bigger than your fellow mate, it is just in a different place my friend…

We are but the same yet different only by virtue of the water we carry… So don’t be scared to wade waters unexplored for you have some of our own expeditions to keep you afloat…

As family, friends and loved ones we might never truly understand what you are going through but that will never stop your well wishers from wading through your waters… They will never be able to empty your pond but will create ripples to bring the unsettled currents to surface so that you can ride those waves to dry land…

Your pond is yours to carry but every now and then someone will sail his paper boat in your waters, many will get washed away because the current were too overwhelming and a few will float along through hail, rain, storm or sun… Those are your life boats that will stand the test of time and relentless onslaught of your troubled waters, not because you need them but because they want you…

Yes they want you as part of their lives and it was never about you needing them; because your pond is only yours to carry and sometimes you may find a lifeboat or two floating around… Uninvited yes, but certainly not unwelcome…

As I end this note I would like to leave you with some food for thought; in a world of endless puddles, who’s lifeboat have you become today?

Maybe we all just need to set sail in someone else’s pond to realise that we never had our own pond to begin with… Maybe that will help us realise that yes we do have problems, but we have a lot more to be thankful about…

Think about it… It might just set your sail in the right direction…
