Is Life worth the trouble...

You only live once so why tame the fancies of a wild heart… Years from now all that will be left are memories of the time you spent on earth and if you are lucky people will remember you as having lived a complete life, regardless of the seconds you added to it…

As I continue to write I am reminded of a verse from a beautiful poem that read, “I have miles to go before I sleep” and for year I have struggled with trying to understand those lines… To be honest I was blinded by my limited perspective on life and always thought it spoke about how many years I had before I saw the light at the end of the tunnel; but only recently have I come to realise that it was never about the time I have left… But was always about the moments I have added to that time on earth…

Some people live their entire lives in a fleeting moment, while some see their lives flash in front of their eyes and some even live a complete life although not the longest one, but sadly most of us just breath through one day at a time…

When the purpose of one’s life is fueled by accepting what life has to offer I wonder motivates them to look forward to another day… It scares me to see these mechanics we have adopted and have the misconception of calling it “life”…

10 years from now when you look back, it would be the biggest scam of the century where one life would be traded for the illusion of having lived one…

People around me have dawned a new skin and wear it with confused contradiction of who they really are… They call it practical living but every now and then I see the real them struggling to strip those conditional formats to take a gulp from their heart’s driven desires…

We have become a race that trust less in love and more in compatibility… The drive of our choices are crippled by a series of wrongful events tucked away in our past, which only trick us into losing out on the people who love us for no reason at all… Fear has taken precedence over love and we are unwilling to give love another chance…

We look for perfection in relationships, when in reality all we have to offer are imperfections… The true test of togetherness is falling in love with those flaws and still wanting to fight an army for them… Love like life is not a negotiation but a realisation that one heartbeat is all it takes to live a lifetime…

We weigh people by their religion, cast, creed, sex and even their appearance but are blinded to the flavour of humanity they emit… It’s unfortunate that the lack or the presence of such beliefs are what we use as measurements to gauge people around us…

Well enough said and still so little done for I truly have miles to go before I sleep and when I do slip into an un-awakened slumber I would want to be remembered as having lived a complete life and having loved for no reason at all…

So tell me, how would you like to be remembered?
