I am broken...

I look into the mirror and see a lost soul, a soul that is struggling with acceptance…

 

Disfigured, disillusioned and disheartened I stare at the image that the world has tagged me as, but I light a candle of hope knowing that there is some light to carry me through…

 

Such are our perceptions of life for being unique…

 

My choice of gender, or the clothes I wear, or the unconventional career path, have all made me handicap; because such limitations are no longer a physical barrier but have crossed over into manifestation unheard off…

 

We have grown to push away anything that is not widely accepted as society and that saddens me…

 

The plight of an acid victim’s triumph and the courageous attempt of choosing an unconventional career are the same today; however the battle may be different…

 

We need to stop second guessing ourselves and learn to accept that we might just be a different breed…

 

A lion born in captivity and a lion born in the wild need only the realisation of being king to behave like one; and there is a lion in each one of us!

 

This note is summarised in the words of a great motivator Less Brown – “Most people fail not because they aim too high and miss but because they aim too low and hit”, which is the story of every dream we have had…

 

The biggest hurdles we face in life are not the ones society conditions us to believe but the ones we choose to accept amongst them…
